Secondhand Prophets are a high energy Organic Texas Roadhouse Rock Band that prides itself on delivering “The Show” every time they hit the stage. The centerpiece of their live shows are their original songs delivered with passion and conviction, you will swear you know these tunes and leave the show singing them for days. If Whiskey Myers, Blackberry Smoke, Stapleton and Cross Canadian are your thing then SHP is your Huckleberry. This is Red Dirt, Rock, Blues and Country music at its very best.

From the first show in 2012 Secondhand Prophets has forged its own way, paying its dues in and around the Abilene, San Angelo and Brownwood area. Never content playing covers the decision was made early on that this band was going to hang its hat on its original material. Doc “The Prophet” Turner is the primary song writer, with the riff wizardry of Derek “The Preacher” Weinkauf they penned favorites The Frey, Scream, Broken Girl and the Mary Concept. While many bands struggle to work an original song or two into their set SHP regularly fills venues and has built a following doing so.
